Welcome to Europe!

We have to begin somewhere, so why not in Finland? After all, it was in that country that I took the photos that inspired me to set up this website, replacing my earlier "Stefan's Travel Page" created in the 1990s. From 2004 and a few years on, photos of bears, wolverines and the odd wolf, formed the nucleus of this website.

The second photo on this page is from Sweden and shows an ermine (also known as stoat or short-tailed weasel) still in its white winter phase while the snow is melting all around it. Here are more photos of this ermine (and some patches of melting snow).
